The Message Thread File

The Message Thread File is a binary file containing thread information.

This file consists of a sequence of VAOS syntext structures for all the messages in the folder in messagebase order.

A syntext structure is a fixed length structure containing

  • A 25-character buffer containing the friendly name of the sender of the message with spaces replaced by underscores. The string is truncated to a maximum of 24 characters, NUL-terminated, and padded with NUL characters.
  • A 100-character buffer containing the subject line for the message, padded with NUL characters. The string is truncated to a maximum of 99 characters, NUL-terminated, and padded with NUL characters.

The file ends after the last record with no end-of-file marker.
